Aurora Oaks Enhanced Shelter is the highest-performing enhanced shelter in King County, maintaining a 99% shelter bed utilization rate. Our enhanced shelter model provides private rooms and extended stays for both single adults and partners, giving clients the time and stability they need to focus on their next steps over the course of months, not days.
At the heart of the enhanced shelter model is autonomy, dignity, and the opportunity to step away from the day-to-day stresses of homelessness and focus on creating a path forward. Clients have a private, consistent space where they can keep their belongings secure and know that their room will be there when they return. This sense of stability allows clients to begin reconnecting with
what it means to feel safe and secure while working toward their goals in the community.
The additional time and stability provided at Aurora Oaks also allows our Client Services and Shelter Services teams to build meaningful relationships with clients. By getting to know each individual’s circumstances, strengths, and needs, our teams can better identify appropriate resources and develop individualized pathways toward permanent housing and greater stability.

Referral Information
Beginning Monday, August 31, 2026, referrals to Aurora Oaks Enhanced Shelter will remain open on a consistent basis. Referrals must be submitted by a third-party service provider; clients cannot self-refer. Any self-referrals submitted will not be accepted or considered, in accordance with HUD guidelines.
Aurora Oaks is committed to providing more than a temporary place to stay. Through privacy, stability, time, and individualized support, the enhanced shelter model creates an environment where clients can regain a sense of safety, identify their goals, and take meaningful steps toward housing and long-term stability.
