Shoreline Housing Outreach
Housing Outreach was added as a new program in May 2018 as an effort by King County to support programs outside of the City of Seattle. This program is jointly funded by King County with 20% matching funds from the City of Shoreline. A full time housing specialist was hired to conduct outreach on the streets of Shoreline with the primary purpose of connecting people to housing and essential services via King County’s Coordinated Entry and Streets to Home funding from United Way. This worker is available oncall to City of Shoreline’s police, fire and parks departments to respond to resource needs of people experiencing homelessness. They visit Shoreline facilities, meal programs, bus stops, and outdoor locations to engage people and build relationships with other service providers.
